Second up would be the Libra, followed by Forma, followed by Inkpad 3. In addition to the incredible weight distribution and aluminium chassis, the page buttons are so incredibly clicky and nice feeling. As for your wants:Īfter trying out the above extensively for a week, the Kindle Oasis 3 is the absolute winner here. Of course some models could be better/worse than others as all things are a lottery, but for the most part all of them are incredible devices. So far my conclusion is that, you literally cannot go wrong unless you have specific things you want. I understand that there isn't a lot of work involved to change ebook formats if necessary, which is why I didn't included it in my list (please correct me if I'm wrong). If one e-reader has better formatting than another, that may greatly impact my final decision. I'm also hoping that formatting within novels is similar to print versions, because that was my #2 concern with e-readers (my 1st concern was that e-readers would be too slow for me, but I really despise this new paperback format to the point where I'm finally willing to give e-readers a chance). 'fast' page turns/screen changes (? I don't know how to describe this I know e-ink isn't as fast as an LCD screen, but I do want to stick to e-ink). ![]() ![]() I'm Canadian, so our library systems support Kobo, but I don't mind getting a Kindle if they are best for my purposes. I was wondering whether anyone had any input on which I should get for my 1st e-reader.
